OVERVIEW

Formerly known as Suryapur (City of the Sun God), Surat is a popular city in the Indian state of Gujarat. Referred to as the ‘city of silk and diamond’, it is one of the most important centres for trade and commerce in the state. Tourists will be amazed to know that 90% of diamonds in the world are cut in Surat. Located on the banks of the river Tapti, Surat boasts of a rich history that dates back to 990 AD. Surat came under the control of the Parsis around the 12th century, a time during which the city flourished in a fast rate. The Mughal reign saw the establishment of trading outposts by European colonies like the British, Portuguese, Dutch and the French.

DAY 1 Delhi – Surat

Guest will meet at designated joining points and proceed by coach to Surat. Welcome to Surat. On arrival, we visit ISKON Temple & later enjoy the Dumas Beach. This evening, we’ll enjoy shopping in the local market of Surat. Today we have a short meet and greet session before dinner.

DAY 2 Surat – Sardar Sarovar – Vadodara (2N)
Today we proceed to Vadodara. En route we visit Sardar Sarovar Dam – A gravity dam on the Narmada River and ‘Statue of Unity’ – the world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

DAY 3 Vadodara – Champaner – Pavagadh – Anand – Vadodara

Today we visit Laxmi Vilas Palace from outside. We then proceed to Champaner – Pavagadh, declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We visit the Fort of Pavagadh by Ropeway, Jama Masjid, Kalika Mata Mandir. Later, we visit Anand – the place where Amul factory was established. Overnight stay at Vadodara.

DAY 4 Vadodara – Departure to hometown
